Subdivision Surveys

Subdivision Survey is the process of dividing one parcel of land into two or more smaller parcels or adjusting a boundary between existing lot lines. Each subdivided lot is given a separate title. The subdivision process can be lengthy and complicated, but our team at Action Survey Inc. can guide you through every step, from submitting the application to obtaining approval and endorsement from the local municipality, and finally registering the new survey plan at the Alberta Land Title Office, which issues new titles for the individual lots.

Whether you are just starting the process of subdivision or have already applied and been granted conditional approval, we strive to simplify the process for you. We manage most of the work internally, keeping costs and processing time to a minimum at every stage. The following steps provide a visual understanding of the typical subdivision process in Alberta. For more details on Alberta’s subdivision process, you can read the Brochure provided by the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association.

What is currently approximate time to complete Subdivision?

The current approximate time for the subdivision process is 4-5 months. To avoid any delays with your project, we recommend starting the subdivision process as early as possible.
